Meet Madge Darlington!
Madge’s career in real estate supports her serious art habit. She’s a Co-Founding Artistic Director of Austin’s renowned experimental theater collective, Rude Mechs. Madge has produced, directed and toured with the Rudes for 20 years.
Since August 1985, Madge has traveled to over 25 countries but always come home to live within a two-mile radius of The University of Texas, where she’s been an undergrad, grad student, staff member, faculty spouse, Longhorn sports fan and now a Lecturer in the Department of Theatre and Dance.
Madge lives in the Mueller Neighborhood, the premiere New Urbanist community on the site of Austin’s old airport. She and her wife Lisa live with their sons, Max and Milo, and Madge’s mom, Barbara. In addition to her work with Rude Mechs, Madge serves on the board of Golden Hornet Project (a non-profit composer laboratory) and is an active McCallum Orchestra Booster.
In 2009, Carrie Bills helped Madge and Lisa sell their cottage in Cherrywood and realize the dream of buying a Mueller home to house their multigenerational family. Madge and her family depended on Carrie’s integrity, knowledge, creativity, and support during this key life transition, and the process opened Madge’s eyes to the fact that a good realtor is an agent of positive change. As an agent, Madge looks forward to helping you make your dreams come true.
